New Delhi: BS Yeddyurappa, the BJP’s Karnataka chief, rubbished the allegation in a news report today in the Caravan magazine claiming that he had paid Rs. 1,800 crore as bribe to his party leadership. As he called the allegations “atrocious and malicious”, the Congress said it could well be the first case to be investigated by India’s first anti-corruption Lokpal. The Caravan claimed to have accessed diary notings of what it said were payments by Mr Yeddyurappa to top BJP leaders and even judges. The diary entries, claims the article, were dated January 2009.
Movie News : Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s friendship dates all the way back to their first film, Student of The Year (2012). The two had made their debut with the Karan Johar film, and since then, have come a long way in their respective Bollywood journeys. They’ve worked together in two blockbusters, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. They’ll next be seen together in Abhishek Varman’s Kalank. Today, Varun and Alia are considered two of the most bankable actors in Bollywood. In fact, Alia has been roped in for ambitious projects like RRR, Takht and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Inshallah. Varun took a little playful dig at Alia about this at an awards show. He said, “Inshallah, mashallah now that you are collaborating with big directors and actors, you won’t work with me!” Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor laughed at this, from the audience. Varun turned towards them and said, “After a couple of years, she won’t be working with either of you, too!” News website : Hindi News.
Sport news : India captain Virat Kohli said he would be ‘sitting at home if he thinks like people from outside’, responding, in his trademark combative style, to Gautam Gambhir’s recent jibe at him, but without taking the former opener’s name. Gambhir, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to two Indian Premier League titles — in 2012 and 2014 — recently said that in a result-oriented franchise environment, Kohli has been ‘lucky’ to have survived despite Royal Challengers Bangalore never winning the coveted title in his eight years as the captain. Asked about it, the batting maestro said, “Obviously, you want to win the IPL. I am doing what I am supposed to do. I don’t care whether I am going to be judged on this (not winning IPL) or not. There is no real, sort of, parameters you set. I try to perform wherever I can. I try to win all the possible titles, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. “We have to be practical about why we haven’t won one. That boils down to bad decision making in pressure situations. If I think like people from outside, I can’t even sustain five games. I would be sitting at home,” Kohli said.
